COLLECTION NOTE
In a staging where the boundary between fashion and live art fades, GAUCHERE presents its new collection under the sign of transformation and movement.
Guided by the singular vision of Marie-Christine Statz, the house explores a wardrobe in constant metamorphosis: fluid yet structured materials, modular silhouettes, and plays of skin and structure or opacity and bareness.
Each piece embodies the idea of transition, from rigidity to fluidity, from the intimate to the collective, from the static to the dynamic.
For this presentation, GAUCHERE collaborates with choreographer, director, and former principal dancer with the New York City Ballet, Benjamin Millepied, whose choreographic language transcends the traditional runway space. Dancers are presenting the collection, blurring the conventional codes of the catwalk. Walking becomes dance, and dance becomes manifesto, revealing the garment in its most vibrant form. Led by the rhythm of the dance, silhouettes communicate, shape, and contrast, no longer just worn, they become an extension of the gesture, a tool for expression. David Lang’s composition This was written by Hand shapes the architecture of the piece. Five dancers construct and deconstruct its core; repetition becomes transformation, duo shifts to trio, to collective, each movement carried by the energy of desire.
Fifteen looks are presented throughout the performance and reflect the essence of the Spring Summer 2026 collection. The color palette evolves from contrasting black and white into warm shades of brown and beige, before transitioning into a spectrum of cooler hues of blue. This range is enhanced with off-white and soft pastel yellow, and is grounded by deep neutrals such as marble black and architectural gray.
Tactile utilitarian fabrics are combined with fluid forms: pants and skirts in structured denim, faux leather and nylon meet twisted jersey and silk tops. Tailored jackets in light summer wool fold over soft layers, while skirts pair with sculptural bra-tops, and. A series of garments are constructed from panels of silk-viscose crepe, connected by snaps, allowing them to shift and transform into silhouettes defined by the movement of the body.
With this collection, GAUCHERE affirms a vision where fashion is conceived as a bodily language, and where the energy of movement, orchestrated by Benjamin Millepied, elevates the poetic power of transformation.
