COLLECTION NOTE

The Pre Fall 2020 collection is inspired by the architect and visionary creator Charlotte Perriand – a free woman and pioneer of modernity. The designer Marie-Christine Statz took a particular interest in the collaboration of Perriand with Le Corbusier and his cousin Pierre Jeanneret. The colours and textures of the collection are references to their interior of Pavillon Suisse that the trio created in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Charlotte Perriand who contributed to the definition of a new art de vivre, focused on the human and not the object. Marie-Christine Statz shares this vision and has the woman in mind and how it makes her feel to be wearing certain garments and shapes. This season’s dark hues and shades of clay are accentuated with a warm saffron yellow and a rich pine green. The 22 looks show vests, jumpsuits and bodies in strong V shapes.

Coats and jackets feature the signature tuck-ins at the waist and are paired with oversized shoulders to create a feminine and strong hourglass silhouette. Blazers and trousers with tuxedo detailing are mixed in navy and black. They are designed for a loose fit and create a casual look that underlines the relaxed attitude of the GAUCHERE suiting. The graphic character of the collection is emphasized by the jacquard knits in A-line shapes.
