COLLECTION NOTE

For the Fall Winter 2019 collection the designer Marie-Christine Statz took inspiration from the minimal art and design movement and its general idea of listening to the figure and paying attention to people, space, nature, light, and materials. The principals are that basic geometric forms and the repetitions of structures represent a sense of order and essential quality.

The signature suiting comes in hourglass silhouettes this season. This repetitive accentuation of the waist is created with different techniques e.g. by tailored oversized shoulders that are contrasted with a tapered waist, by tucking blazers into pleated skirts or by redefining the shape of a straight jacket with a belted harness. Light wools, shiny ultrathin leather, stretchy techno fabrics as well as water-repellent outerwear cottons are the key fabrics for Fall Winter 2019.

The strong monochrome looks, GAUCHERE is known for, come in warm brown and bordeaux hues, a dusty pink and bright purple. Black, navy, grey, off-white and different shades of vanilla complete the palette. This season’s terrazzo print once again takes up the designer’s inspiration and bundles the colour theme. The final look shows a waisted dress with different pleats and detachable long sleeves made of four variations of the print.
